After 10 years of supporting LiA-designed community development initiatives through online network building, Life in Africa USA is now supporting a growing WE Network of verified local community based organizations and social entrepreneurs in Africa, by helping them to develop stronger, more interactive online networks of their own and through grants and fundraising for their projects.
Together, WE Network communities are using Webbed Empowerment strategies to engage the online world as stakeholders in developing grassroots-driven ideas for creative uplift and self-help for vulnerable African children, families and communities.
Life in Africa Foundation – Uganda is currently verifying and evaluating additional community-based initiatives and social entrepreneurs in Uganda for inclusion in the WE Network, with the aim of joining hands with at least 10 Ugandan communities pursuing joint WE strategies online by the end of Q1 2010.
